Utilizing experiential methodology, we explore techniques to improve a team’s capacity to work effectively together.
Concepts explored:
  • The efficacy of true collaboration
  • Effective listening skills
  • Multi-tasking as a team
  • Creating a work-place culture that values risk-taking and innovation
  • Perception trumps Intention
  • The power of being ‘present’
  • Spontaneity
  • The value to the team of committing to or letting go of one’s position
  • The ‘human’ connection – examining similarities and differences

The atmosphere of this session is lighthearted and fun, utilizing activities developed from traditional and nontraditional training methodology, including exercises based in improvisational theatre training. The facilitator creates a comfortable atmosphere in which all participants are supported and encouraged to take risks and laugh with each other. Every exercise has a specific objective and will be debriefed as the participants explore a series of team collaboration skills, easily applicable back in the workplace.

This session can be designed for 2 – 6 hours, depending on the number of participants and client needs.
Session is most effective with 12 – 24 participants; can custom design for larger groups.

The entire session is physically interactive, so a large space is required; enough room for all participants to stand in a circle.  No desks.  Movable chairs needed for some exercises.

Utilizing experiential methodology, we explore techniques to improve a Leader’s skills in effectively engaging a team or individual.

Concepts that can be explored:
            Effective Listening Skills
            Emotional Intelligence
Confidence and Comfort when managing up, down and peers (Status Management)
Presentation Skills: Content and Delivery  (Vocal, Physical and Verbal elements)
Engaging and Influencing Others via a Heightened Awareness of Body, Voice and Mind
            Perception trumps Intention
            Emotional Congruency
            Creative Problem-solving
Positive Reinforcement; Giving and Receiving Feedback
            Values Clarification
            Inspiration
The atmosphere of this session is nurturing, fun, and challenging, based on activities developed from traditional and nontraditional training methodology, including exercises developed through theatre training.  Participants will surely feel outside their ‘comfort zone’ as individuals are given feedback on their ability to genuinely engage an audience of one or one hundred.  Participants’ skills are fostered as we journey through the session, and participants are encouraged to try new approaches to leadership competencies.

This session works best with small groups of 8 – 12 participants; can custom-design for larger groups. The session(s) can be designed to include any or all of the concepts listed, therefore it could run anywhere from 3 – 16 hours, and can happen over the course of a few days.  Longer sessions work best if uninterrupted (for example, run two consecutive 8 hour days).

Many exercises are physical, so a large empty space is required with no desks.  In addition, easily movable chairs are required so that small group discussions can take place in different areas of the room.

An excellent stand-alone session OR a rich addition to Team or Leadership development sessions.
Using an assessment model called The Communication Wheel, participants discover their own communication style and, more importantly, how their style communicates with other styles.  This information is crucial for both professional and personal development as it can have a profound effect on how we relate to others.  Ultimately, participants learn how to get their needs met by meeting the needs of others.

This session is lighthearted and fascinating and prompts rich small and large-group discussions.  Some interactive exercises are utilized.

Concepts include:
            Understanding Self & Others
            Perception vs. Intention
The value of all styles in teams
            Leading each style
Over-use of style (resulting in unhealthy, ineffective communication)
Mastering styles communication and how it leads to increased productivity
Communicating verbally, nonverbally and through the written word for each style

If this Styles session is scheduled with a Leadership or Team Development session, the ‘language’ of these Styles will be used in those sessions and provides another layer of discovery.

Large open space needed.  Movable chairs; no desks or tables.

Session runs 3 – 4 hours, depending on number of participants.

Session most effective with 15 – 30 participants; can custom-design for larger groups.
In this fun, interactive session, participants will explore and embrace the concept that they are Creative!  We define Creativity as ‘Re-visioning” – Seeing with New Eyes.  Based on that definition we do the following in this session:
  • Identify Skills of The Creative (The Ten Creative Concepts)
  • Practice those skills
  • Play (awaken the inner child – the innate creative)
  • Apply newly awakened creative skills to work-related scenarios
  • During the ‘play’ section of the program we use physically, mentally and creatively challenging activities based in traditional and nontraditional training methodology including exercises developed from theatre and improvisation training. There is much laughter and fun, but this is ‘serious play;’ each exercise builds on the previous skills until the group has embraced and claimed their creative powers!  Creativity and innovation are the keys to moving forward in all industries and this program awakens and fosters participants’ ability to  ‘re-vision’ their work and forge ahead of the competition.

This session can run 3 – 7 hours, based on number of participants and client’s needs.
Session most effective with 12 – 24 participants; can custom-design for larger groups.

A large empty space is necessary with movable chairs and few or no desks.

The instruments one uses when addressing an audience are the body, voice and mind – like playing any instrument, one must tune up and practice before performing for the crowd!  I utilize exercises based in theatre/acting to enhance the speaker’s mental state (focus, nerve management), vocal agility, and body language.  While improving delivery is essential, the content is also important:  I can provide techniques to make your material interactive, and to help you integrate experiential learning methodology into your work. I focus on reducing or eliminating Power Point usage and making a human connection!  Ultimately the goal is to engage the audience in a dialogue rather than a monologue by using a personal, genuine style.

Session runs 3 – 14 hours, depending on number of participants and client’s needs.
Session most effective with individuals or small groups of 6 – 12.
